How does Bottle Hounds work?
After signing up, you are able to search for any bottle of interest. When you find what you’re looking for, you can add it to your list of Watchdogs. You can think of a Watchdog as a resource dedicated to keeping tabs on a specific bottle.
As soon as you’ve added a Watchdog to your list, it is immediately dispatched. A Watchdog will check the LCBO for inventory changes every 4-7 minutes. It does so in a respectful, scaleable, and efficient manner.
Once a Watchdog detects an important inventory change, you are then alerted as per your preferences.
When am I alerted by Bottle Hounds?
You are alerted when any bottles that you have assigned a Watchdog to have a significant change in inventory, this can include:
In Stock - A bottle is now in stock, when it was out of stock before
Low Stock - A bottle has entered the low-stock threshold when it wasn’t in it before
Out of Stock - A bottle has gone out of stock
Each alert will only consider stores within your search radius, if you've set one.
How am I alerted by Bottle Hounds?
This is entirely up to you. There are 3 main options:
Install the Bottle Hounds mobile app (Recommended) and receive Push Notifications (Default on app)
Opt-in to receive email alerts
Both 1. and 2.
How many Watchdogs can I have?
Bottle Hounds offers various tiers to cater to a variety of audiences:
Premium - 15 Watchdogs
Standard - 5 Watchdogs
Lite - 2 Watchdogs
